Race Report Round 1: Brands Hatch

Round 1 at Brands Hatch was a perfect reminder of what motorsport is all about, overcoming setbacks, adapting under pressure, and never giving up.

We were welcomed with dry, sunny conditions, and everything was shaping up for a strong opening weekend. The pace was there and the car felt good. But around half an hour into my stint, our original race plan was completely thrown out the window.

We suffered a major issue when the alternator belt failed, which in turn damaged the fuel line, and to make things worse, the battery began losing charge. In that moment, what had been a straightforward race became a battle just to stay in contention.

At that point, it would have been easy for the weekend to unravel, but the entire Puretrack Racing team did an incredible job responding under pressure, and we kept fighting to the end.

Despite the mechanical setbacks, we dug deep, adapted to the situation, and pushed on. Every lap after that was about determination, managing the issues, and refusing to let the race slip away.

To come away from that kind of adversity and still finish P2 feels like a huge result.

It may not have been the race we planned, but in many ways it was even more rewarding. Results are one thing, but fighting through problems and still standing on the podium shows the strength of the team and the determination behind the scenes.

A massive thank you to everyone involved for the effort and commitment, weekends like this show what can be achieved when everyone keeps pushing, no matter what.
